THE CERTAINTY OF JUDGMENT - HEBREWS 9:27,28
Charles Dickens' classic character Ebenezer Scrooge is a classic example of a person who is confronted with judgment of his choices and actions. Seventh-day Adventists have been foremost in pointing to the reality of a judgment before Jesus returns in power and great glory.
I. The Scriptures teach the certainty of judgment - Acts 17:31; Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10; James 2:12
II. Daniel and Revelation indicate the time of judgment - Daniel 7,8; Revelation 14
III. The Scriptures affirm an investigation in judgment - Ecclesiastes 12:14 A) Adam and Eve - Genesis 3 B) Sodom and Gomorrah - Genesis 18:20,21; Luke 17:28-30 C) Joseph and his brothers D) Mt. Carmel - 1 Kings 18 - a test E) Parable of the wedding garment - Matthew 22:1-13
